The Change EP

Play 90 second soundbite of 'The Change' @ 'CD quality'

'The Change EP' is a powerful and hauntingly beautiful work from the heart and soul (and guts) of Zein Simone.

The six original tracks showcasing Zein's stunning voice kick off with 'Again' which eases the listener into her sensual and soulful world with a gentle and somehow soothing but heartfelt song of anguish and regret. 'The Change' is a stunning classy work al la Kate Bush that tugs at the senses with dark, haunting riffs that work superbly with Zein's brilliant vocal acrobatics. 'Wasn't 4 U' is a sort of R&B meets hip-hop affair; it's got massive commercial potential and would surely challenge most of the 'girl' acts currently ripping through the charts - a real worker this one!

'Behind Closed Doors' has a slightly bluesy feel as it opens - then it soars off with massive rock riffs and crescendo's and back again. Blimey mate, this is different and impressive to say the least!! 'Wish I Knew' has Gospel undertones and hip-hop vibes running alongside Zein's oh so soulful vocal performance. 'Good Hurt' brings things to a close with a work that errs towards the jazzy side.

Zein Simone's voice is the obvious focal point throughout this excellent work; she articulates superbly hence you're never left wondering what she's singing about. The production is crisp and clear, her songwriting is clever, meaningful and emotional and the EP is packed full of stunning arrangements. It's well easy to listen to and begs to be replayed. Zein touches the heart and gets under your skin. 'The Change EP' ought to kick out a few bricks and open up new doorways on the pathway to achieving the recognition she so richly and obviously deserves.
