Yves Klein Blue

EP - Draw Attention To Themselves

Play 90 second soundbite of 'Blasphemy' @ 'CD quality'

'Draw Attention To Themselves' is a crackin' good seven track EP from Brisbane four-piece indie-altsters and strangely named Yves Klein Blue; something akin, I suppose, to Razorlight insofar as these guys push somewhat at the indie envelope to come up with an infectiously gritty take on the form that almost refuses to be pigeonholed. Hard to define maybe but, Yves Klein Blue sure do make popular music sound wholesome, interesting and worthwhile again; their use of knee-jerkin' syncopation alongside raunchy rockin' riffs and typical pop hookability is pretty special.

Described as playing a 'clashy blend of classic pop, old punk, gypsy jazz and indie rock', Yves Klein Blue offer jangly catchability, wonderfully intoxicating singalongability and sharp-edged popability which all adds up to a pretty bloody commercially viable groove that will have wide appeal and hopefully more takers than knockers!!

Yves Klein Blue have certainly come up with a sound that's heavily stylised yet beautifully appealing; their pop weighted rockin' songs made all the more unputdownable by their unusual but surprisingly up-lifting charm. Certainly, if you're looking for a band that's taking things to a whole 'other' level then Yves Klein Blue are worth a good long looksee; Yves Klein Blue's quite obvious popablility is further enhanced by their original use of mature melody, sophisticated rhythms and damn catchy choruses. No, Yves Klein Blue aint like yer average indie outfit, these guys make catchy pop sound really 'grown-up' and 'proper'!

'Draw Attention To Themselves, by the enchantingly obtuse Yves Klein Blue is a whole new 'bag' of intelligent rock'n'pop for the more discerning ear; as catchy and hooky as hell yet somehow all grown-up and perfectly formed - great sound, brilliant band, pretty damn awesome EP!!
