Play 90 second soundbite of 'SO Sexy' @ 'CD quality'
'So Sexy' comes with a remix version which is all very fine but I think Young Don has missed an opening here coz if he'd put a totally different track from the album as a 'B' side it would help give the bigger picture of this rap 'diversifier'. However, that's all pie in the sky now coz it's done and dusted! So, 'So Sexy' is a really well proportioned and well slick number that clearly shows Young Don's ability to smooch and grind - especially when he needs to. It is beautifully put together and superbly delivered - Young Don sounds like a well established artist rather than the cheeky upstart that he is! It's certainly one of his more commercial songs and will stand well against some of the more established R&B artists.
'So Sexy' has everything going for it but I still believe it doesn't show enough of Young Don's ability to 'mix it up' and, for me, it's in the mixing up of styles that Young Don has a head start and stands firmly ahead of his contemporaries. But, as a sexy and emotional dance track it works perfectly well and it should prove to be a decent money earner.
'So Sexy' by Young Don is a great little single - it wouldn't have been my choice of track from the album but hey, who am I to know? I really hope 'So Sexy' does what Young Don and his 'team' hope for - if it does and it leads on to album sales I think people will start to get the true picture of this rap star with a vision.
