@ The Marr's Bar, Worcester - 11/10/04

This promised to be good according to just about everyone on Marr's tonight. They were right, Youth Movie Soundtrack Strategies were awesome. A rich vein of electric music for the mind and body - atmospheric mayhem - rhythmic splendour - melodic trauma. Colourful and aggressive toons that the band's name only hints at. Movie soundtrack strategies is what it is or certainly what it has the potential to be. I could see this massive sound gracing many a modern movie score adding frighteningly rich musical pastiches to all kinds of celluloid themes.

The guys worked hard but seemingly effortlessly to create their vibrant, almost orchestrated themes with some pleasantly dark undercurrents and pulsating riffs. Some great vocals at times struggled just a little to be heard over the crunchin' instrumental work.

A loud but extremely impressive and controlled set of maelstrom melodies to induce many a nightmare and bring about possible bed wetting!!

Well, I was impressed anyway!!
