'Hypnosis'/'Electrified' is the latest release from Electro dance groovers X1. 'Hypnosis', speaks for itself, does what it suggests; trance like, pulsating grooves with repetitive, spoken 'vocal' cut through the ether with laser-like precision. Three lengthy mixes are presented here - all carry the same heady, dreamy theme and, quite typically of this genre, each is equally difficult to describe in words when experienced in the familiar surroundings of home. X1's work is designed for the club scene and it's only in such an environment that the full effects can really be appreciated. 'Electrified' is more of the same and again comes in three, value for money, mixes. All tracks are slick and infectious - each is stunningly engineered with well honed precision and clarity. Electro dance groovers will not be disappointed!

However, the whole electro dance thing is simply not designed to be heard from the living room with a cup of tea in one hand and with the other hand poised over a computer keyboard. To be able to fully appreciate such work it really needs to be experienced in a darkened place occasionally pierced with rods of laser light, in glitter balled, mirrored spaces surrounded by sweaty bodies and whilst partaking of mind altering beverages (or whatever!). Certainly, X1 know how to play with the senses and this latest release is great value for money - effectively six tracks lasting an awesome forty-five minutes. Is it a single or is it an album - well there's only two track titles so I guess it's a single - but you decide.

If trance inducing electro dance music is your thing then 'Hypnosis' by X1 will go down very well - there's nothing to fault and plenty to get high on!
