Play 90 second soundbite of 'Everybody Up' @ 'CD quality'
So, French band eh? Yep, with French lyrics! So, where do I start? Well, like so many of us Brits (and primarily English speaking Nations), lazy gits that we are, I don't do French! Does it matter? Well actually no; Wolfunkind let their music speak for itself. 'The Album Of Maturity' is a formidable rock outing that's well accented with the funky thang that's goin' on. AS for the 'punk' element - I think it's only 'punkish' in so far as it pushes at a few musical boundaries with its zany cross-over approach. This really is a decent piece of work. CD1 crunches out sixteen impressive tracks - CD2 is an impressive eight track live work and the DVD offers a great insight into the crazy world of Wolfunkind with tour and studio footage which features their friend Fishbone, some madcap air guitar work and a general feel-good factor. It's crazy man!!
Ok, so, this is an awesomely entertaining piece of work; 'The Album Of Maturity' is like nothing else I've experienced purely because of it's total dedication to portraying, with no holds barred, a gifted outfit that's well honed and bloody good at what they do. Forget the language 'problem' - it matters not! And anyway, they do throw in a few tracks in English for good measure.
Wolfunkind have assembled a great piece of contemporary audio/visual entertainment with 'The Album Of Maturity'. Without doubt I've been given a bit of a wake-up call here. 'The Album Of Maturity' has blown me away with its full-on approach and 'ballsy' attack - a stunningly good 'chunk' of funked-up rock!! Check this baby out.
