Play 90 second soundbite of 'Five Minute Wonder' @ 'CD quality'
At times somewhat unconventional but always hittin' 'the spot', William throw away the rule book and make it up as they go along! William's sound is fresh, vitriolic, organic - there's no pretence here, no cocky self-indulgence or arty-farty cleverness - just pure unadulterated musical energy that comes straight from the adrenalin fuelled heart of William the band!
William have a robust yet simplistic sound that few bands come close to achieving with any real success; theirs has a 'live', lo-fi element that lingers within the boldly pounding electric framework of drums, bass and guitar - there's a raw and energetic sense of reality, spatial awareness and instrumental dynamics that rams itself home with every track that unfolds. Oh, and then there's those vocals that perhaps border on madcap and wacky; brash, pained, emotional but above all, genuine! The voice becomes another instrument to add to the electrifying frenzy, an instrument that spits and spurts out words not notes, driven on by crashin' chords and the crunchin' rhythmic backdrop that at times feels chaotic and borders on manic. William dish out great lashings of controlled aggression, youthful exuberance and high spirited musical exclamation! Sensational stuff this - it's refined rawness, it's ordered mayhem, and above all, it's real straight-arrow, down and dirty!
William rock with punked-up power-pop attitude and carry a massive degree of likeability. William generate a mini wall-of-sound that's melodic but abstractly commercial and undeniably memorable. 'Self In Fiction' by William is an inspired work of our times - a musical statement of intent - a piece of modern pop-rock that deserves to do well. Extraordinary - brilliant!!
