Play 90 second soundbite of 'Matter' @ 'CD quality'
Violet Playground can take it down and bring it home as shown in the opening bars of 'Matter' or they can rip-it-up big style as shown on 'Mob Rules' but, whatever mood you might find them in I guarantee that they'll be givin' it everything they've got both individually and collectively to ensure you're properly entertained and totally rocked-up. This amazing four-piece carefully balance dynamics, as silence vies with sound, to bring the best out of their pretty dramatic songs; from instrumentally sparse and emotionally punctuative to electrifyingly scathing and violently searing, Violet Playground deliver with no respect for the aural health of the listener and no thought at all for the sanity of their contemporaries. At times Violent Playground rock with massively angry attitude whilst at others they perform with acoustic elegance and subtle grace - the variety is captivating, the vibe is enthralling, the ride is absolutely awesome!
Clearly these guys are magnificent musicians individually but it's how the react and interact as a unit that makes them so special as they pull together, seemingly ego-less, to deliver the Violent Playground controlled melee of big rock, stadium proportioned sounds. Certainly, in just three relatively short tracks on this self titled EP, Violent Playground have shown me enough to know that this band is something else and have the potential to be absolutely massive.
Violent Playground deliver three amazing tracks here; 'Matter', 'Mob Rules' and 'Dusk' - three monster rockers, three brilliant rock-sided works of impressive proportion, sensational 'timeless rock, rock of ages - nothing short of brilliant!!
