Vhp:45 - EP Series 1

Play 90 second soundbite of 'You Got The Love' by Klub:vhp @ 'CD quality'

Australian label Vhp Records are launching a brand new monthly EP series called 'Vhp:45' to feature the label's digital catalogue of dance/pop projects put together by Vhp's producer and label boss, KZ (Kay Zed); this is the first EP in the series and features Klub:vhp and Vision Of Heaven.

Opening with 'You Got The Love' by Klub:vhp and featuring vocalist Danielle Bottomley and it's straight into the dance groove with a contagious, repetitive backbeat and slick vocals. 'Wanna Be There 4 u' from Vision Of Heaven follows with more of the same catchy elements and annoyingly infectious choruses. If that were not enough there's a second track from the latter; 'Dreamin' which talks about sticking with your dreams and not giving up.

Now, if electro/dance/pop is your thing this series of EP's may be right up your street. There's nothing to dislike and plenty to get down to. For me, this particular genre tends to sound a bit samey so perhaps I'm not the best person to comment. However, with an open mind and a willingness to listen I can still feel what's going down and this (specialist?) label seem to have it down to a fine art. With the massive digital forum and its potential to grab a hold of new listeners I'm sure Vhp Records will be on to a winner here. However, I won't be joining up - it's just not my thing!
