CD Single - Jean Reno/Negative Vibes

Play 90 second soundbite of 'Jean Reno' @ 'CD quality'

On Purpose Built Records, Tybalt have chosen my favourite work from their last, excellent album to release as a CD single.

Opening with a catchy piano riff the instrumental 'Jean Reno' is just superb; almost 'post-rock' in its approach it slowly builds in weight with repetitions of the opening theme. The rollercoaster ride of intensities persists and the rhythm section dig their individual parts into your head. As 'Jean Reno' fades on a wave of distortion and feedback the awesome 'Negative Vibes' slips in and the pace quickens and the intensity rises even more.

Once again, Tybalt have managed to come up with a catchy theme that digs almost instantly into the memory banks and leaves its mark. Overall there's ten minutes or so of superb contemporary 'rock' that can't be faulted - a great introduction to this brilliant band.

Superb!!

A joint venture this as the track shares space with a single from Worcester band Diego Garcia. Until I heard it I hadn't really appreciated just how much these two bands compliment each other. A great idea to share costs and resources with the end result being a fine piece of contemporary 'rock' that should work well for both bands.
