Tokyo Jo

Demo

Play 90 second soundbite of 'In This Town' @ 'CD quality'

This demo was entered into the 2007 Toxic Pete / ffg Studios Demo Competition

Well, once again the Jo's have come up with the goods! Another year and another excellent demo!

I almost feel I don't need to say any more - but I will anyway. Tokyo Jo just never cease to amaze me; I simply don't understand how the A&R scouts have not picked these guys up. They just don't know what they're missing! Tokyo Jo are one of the most adrenalin fuelled, funked-up, gutsy bands that I know. They churn out mountains of quality work. They flavour their music with all sorts of kick-ass grooves. They're punchy, never quirky, but always rock solid and reliable. This demo has four brilliant tracks; 'In This Town', 'I Know', 'Young And Stupid' and 'Round' - all typical Tokyo Jo - all breathless wonders to behold.

So, you'll probably already have cottoned on to the fact that I like Tokyo Jo. You've presumably also realised that I, once again, like their new demo. See, I told you I didn't need to say any more! But I will!

Hey, the Jo's stylee isn't normally even close to my genre of choice. I don't do a lot of funky. But I do do quality! And, yes, once again, Tokyo Jo meet that criteria, and some! The pure energy that exudes from Tokyo Jo is mind-blowin' - everything feels like it's going at 100 mph when, of course, it's actually not. It's just that these guys have a natural knack for the pacey, driven kinda thing and it always feels relentless - but annoyingly likeable (under-statement!).

Ok, criticism time, my only (unproven) reservation is that because I've only ever heard what could be called demo's or EP's, I'm a little bit concerned that if Tokyo Jo put a full-blown album together it could prove just too much to take! Not really criticism then?

so, get it? You should by now. Also, you should get out and seek out Tokyo Jo and anything by them. Excellent stuff!
