Tim Pare

CD - Trans-Siberian Express

Play 90 second soundbite of 'Exorcism' @ 'CD quality'

Acoustic singer/songwriter Tim Pare bares his soul and lyrically 'cries his heart out' through half a dozen crisp, poignant and beautifully crafted songs on 'Trans-Siberian Express'.

Although there's often hints of Pare's influences and musical heroes, his songs remain very much his own property and, more significantly, in his own style. Sure, like most acoustic songsmiths Pare won't be able to avoid comparisons but thankfully not one would be totally accurate. Tim Pare is very much Tim Pare - end of story!

'Trans-Siberian Express' is full of simplistic charm and elegant character; Pare's words are superbly brought to life through excellent subtlety of instrumentation. Everything is designed to enhance rather than detract. All is sensitively balanced and co-ordinated to paint perfect aural pictures - no clutter, no fx, no distortion - just clean, crisp musicianship and precise arrangements that help to draw you gently in rather than smack you in the face. Pare's vocal delivery too is spot on; he makes every word count leaving the listener in no doubt about his lyrical sentiment.

Ok, I can't avoid it any longer - Pare does remind me a little of Damien Rice in the way he structures his music - 'Losing My Touch' being a good example. And the only reason that I make that comparison is because, if Rice can do it, I'm bloody sure that Tim Pare can too! Everything's so right about this guy's work!

'Trans-Siberian Express' is a quality piece of work. Tim Pare should be up there with the 'greats' - maybe 2007 will see Tim Pare gaining the kudos he so genuinely deserves. Bloody marvellous!!
