They Drove Me To It

EP - Support In The Downtime

Play 90 second soundbite of 'Enemy' @ 'CD quality'

They Drove Me To It prove with this EP, ' Support In Downtime', that they really do mean business. The five excellent tracks here are kick-ass good; melodic rock which hints at punk rebellion and roars anthemic qualities.

The highly charged, electrifying attitude is cleverly countered by their ability to slip in big rock ballad passages al la Evanescence. Their music is very 'now' and very commercial but manages to retain a freshness that seems to come from the heart of this energy packed unit.

'Support In The Downtime' presses all the right buttons and reaches the parts that many of their contemporaries just don't come close to; it's quality through and through - somehow heavy Blondie colliding with light Evanescence to result in a 'smart-rock' stylee.

They Drove Me To It excited me when I reviewed their earlier, double 'A' side single, 'Save Me/Bulletproof'. But, I wondered whether they could maintain the 'force' and even up the ante - with 'Support In The Downtime' they prove they can and have!! Now it's surely just down to good, pro-active management and clever promotion to get They Drove Me To It out there to the masses. They deserve to be heard on a wider scale. They're good enough to get a break. Only time will tell now!! A great piece of work gang!!
