Play 90 second soundbite of 'Head In The Sand' @ 'CD quality'
The Welch Boys rockin' punk is furious, frenzied and rocket-fuelled. The 'boys' blast out this massive album in true punk tradition; an attitudinal delivery of catchy, singalongable songs that sound like they could be straight from a cross-over melding of Nickleback, Tenpole Tudor and The Clash. The former bringing the hard rock riffs and biker grunge to the table, the second offering catchy verses and choruses and the latter adding youthful angst and paranoid observation. It's a compelling and explosive modern 'noise' that's very difficult to ignore and even harder to forget. The Welch Boys are a positive powerhouse of renewable energy and flog their arses off to generate this exceedingly turbulent and twisted take on heavy rock shock and awe.
The Welch Boys songs are absolutely blistering compositions; wordy and build from electric foundations that are as hard as granite. There's absolutely no respite at all here from The Welch Boys' atomically armed barrage of sonic broadsides. In fact, I've just had to open a window to let in some fresh are to be able to take a proper breath and relieve the pressure and I'm sure I just saw the moon quake as The Welch Boys' sound wave impacted with the Sea Of Tranquillity!! Yes, it's that powerful!!
'Drinkin' Angry' by The Welch Boys is an absolute monster of rockin' punk angst. Bringing all of the best elements of two electrifying genre together in a way that most couldn't begin to dream about, The Welch Boys punch enormous holes in space and then vanish through their own black hole - monstrous rock from a monstrous quintet of hard-driven rocksters the like of which you just don't come across every day. Awesome 'noise' but massive fun and pure rock escapism, 'Drinkin' Angry' by The Welch Boys is just about a huge as it gets - a gruesome rock outing that causes ear wax to melt and the body to go into spasm through adrenalin overdose!!
