The Tivoli stylee is as diverse as it is compelling; it bops, it chugs, it thumps, it grinds, it rocks - the bugger just don't sit still for one minute and absolutely refuses to be labelled, pigeon-holed or genre-ised! And, all that free-form Brit-rock is rammed full to burstin' with fantastic riffs, glorious fills, wonderful depth and amazing heart. The Tivoli give it up large and expansive here; rock-solid musicianship, pop-tastic songs, total unity and massive feel - are you startin' to feel it yet? I sure am!!
'National Service' sounds like the real deal, the complete package; certainly there's nothing at all to find fault with but shed-loads to admire and get off on! 'National Service' has been stunningly recorded and produced which allows the listener to gain full access to every component part that makes up the whole - it's big, it's ballsy and it's beautiful!! 'National Service' really is the complete package and The Tivoli should be congratulated for their professionalism, precision and performance - it just doesn't get much better than this!!
Although The Tivoli generate a pretty massive sound they manage to keep it all beautifully separated and crystal clear - every instrumental nuance is captured and delivered stunningly, every word is carefully and lovingly prised from the vocal chords and slotted expertly into the excellent mix, it's silky, slick and severely sexy (in a rock'n'roll way!), everything is just perfect!
'National Service' by The Tivoli is a crackin' work that tells the listener everything he/she needs to know about this great band; a truly brilliant album from conception to completion and one that I'll be revisiting regularly from now on!! Stunning, simply stunning!!
