Play 90 second soundbite of 'What Is This Feeling' @ 'CD quality'
'What Is This Feeling' will not only attract attention for its genuine cross-over style but also for its workmanlike qualities; the more you listen, the more you tend to find lurking within the work and the more unusual the track becomes. Although rammed with gutsy instrumental finesse and rhythmic dexterity 'What Is This Feeling' manages to sound uncluttered and retains a polished clarity throughout. The punchy bass lines and punctuative percussion lay a solid backdrop for the gritty guitar to play through but still allow the crisp, clear vocals to work their magic.
'So Wanna Go' accompanies the 'A' side; similarly funked-up, well thought out beautifully delivered, it's another great little worker that further demonstrates The Sessions' penchant for mixing tight dance grooves wrapped in solid indie passion. Finishing with a monstrous remix, 'What Is This Feeling (Cherrystones Remix)', The Sessions take the single to another level with what surely must become a dance club / disco favourite. With a massively contagious and chunky groove this is superbly re-mixed and re-modelled and just begs to be played loud - just try to avoid getting down to this little beauty!
The Sessions show with 'What Is This Feeling' that it's cool to play around with musical genre and if you get it right, as The Sessions have, it can be anything you want it to be. Clever stuff - should do well!
