This beautifully put together EP is much more than just another 'indie' workout; with a definite hint of nu-country and offering great pop sensibility The Rivers Of Sound give it large and should appeal to a pretty wide catchment of musical persuasions. They show they've got masses of natural talent, the willingness to push the envelope and a really sweet sound that's easy on the ear, commercial and instantly recognisable.
'A New Good Feeling' finds The Rivers Of Sound in great form; very 'now' and yet with a very subtle retro 'twist' with the use of some really nice jangly Rickenbacker sounds. Impressive vocals and excellent harmonies up the ante even further for The Rivers Of Sound; these four individuals come together to make on very tight and impressive combo. There's a feeling of unity and mutual respect about The Rivers Of Sound; playing very much as one, they deliver their impressive songs beautifully and professionally.
'A New Good Feeling' by The Rivers of Sound is a four tracker that's straight to the point; succinct, well thought out, superbly recorded and just about on the money!! The Rivers Of Sound have a great feel about them; I love the variety shown here as they give a good rockin' account of themselves but also show a willingness to venture into more balladic and atmospheric sounds which only strengthen their cause. The more I listen, the more I'm drawn into The Rivers Of Sound's beautifully enlightening world.
