Play 90 second soundbite of 'Lords Of The String' @ 'CD quality'
Ukrainian pop/club/house duo Pierre and Bohdan aka The Power Lords haven't tried to be too fancy here, they've not tried to go full-on electro - they've taken electro dance back towards pure pop and I have to say it's quite a refreshing thing to behold. In this digital age it's all too easy to put massive reliance on the power of the 'chip' and many who do often forget the basics, they forget to make it something that people can enjoy at their leisure, as a piece of danceable pop music that they can sing along to without having to think too much. 'Lords Of The String' is proportioned such that it'll work in the dance clubs but it'll also appeal to those less energetic, the stay at home popsters that just like the simpler, less formulated pop music that they can play at home and enjoy on their own.
Whether The Power Lords intended 'Lord Of The Strings' to be more all-encompassing I really don't know but they seem to have got the balance just about right and should make new friends in many popular music camps. And, as is the modern way, The Power Lords have laid down five mixes of the track on this single so if you're that way inclined then there's plenty to sample and much to take in. 'Lords Of The String' by The Power Lords is vibrant and borders on the flippant - great for the dancers, great for the popsters - pure, honest-to-goodness, electro pop that doesn't hold the listener to ransom - it is just what it is!! !
