Another excellent trip down happy jazz lane here from The New Washboard Syncopators - eighteen more delightfully fulfilling oldies done to a turn by this brilliant jazz combo. Scintillating stuff, great tunes, loads of mesmerising solos, and a real feelgood factor - proper food and drink for anyone even halfway into easy jazz!!

What's great about this band is that they play the kinda music that just gets you smiling - you don't even have to be a jazz fan to appreciate what's on offer here - just put the damn thing on the player then sit back and enjoy!! The New Washboard Syncopators have a sort of friendly approach to their music and that comes across in all of their recordings; everything sounds so easy, so beautifully together and fluid - the boys know what they're doing and they just get on and pour it all out with consummate ease and a happy-tappy attitude - bloody marvellous!!

There really isn't too much I can say about this crackin' album - suffice to say that it's another little gem that you should really try to hear - like it or loath it, The New Washboard Syncopators make jazz 'happen' - this aint music that you need to think about, there's no challenge to it, there's nothing to dislike about it but loads to admire - 'Swing Down In New Orleans' is just great jazz and The New Washboard Syncopators have once again come up trumps with this fabulous album - a pleasure to behold and a proper 'beauty' to while away the hours to.
