Play 90 second soundbite of 'Build Him 'Til He Breaks' @ 'CD quality'
The Neutrinos remind me a little of Siouxie And The Banshees; not totally but there's certainly comparisons to be made, mainly in the brash and energetic way they seem to attack their songs. 'Build Him 'Til He Breaks' and 'Mother's Mother Tongue' have that sort of underlying fire to them; a sort of nu-grungy-punk - laden with chunky drums, bass and guitar that provide a hefty and appealing backdrop for the attitudinal, almost angry female voice. What Siouxie Sioux brought to the party, so does this gutsy sounding 'thing'. Ok, no more comparisons! The Neutrinos don't need to be compared or likened to anyone or anything. The Neutrinos have all that matters right their in their hearts. There's nothing flash about their work - they just get straight down and dirty with vocal angst and power-house beats that smash themselves into your memory. The Neutrinos play with an aggression to die for - they sound like they mean it but deep down I bet they're real pussy-cats!
As a first encounter with The Neutrinos, 'Build Him 'Til He Breaks' is a great piece of work - The Neutrinos' battle plan seems to be one that goes straight for the soft tissue, a take no prisoners onslaught with no regard for the sensitivities of the listener. The Neutrinos play hard and fast - sound as if they're prepared to take on all-comers and they get it just about right. 'Build Him 'Til He Breaks' will win hearts and minds - The Neutrinos aren't gonna lie down and die, they're gonna do it their way and there's every chance they'll soon be drillin' home their infectious wares down your way. Watch out for alt-rockers The Neutrinos - they could be big!
