The Magdelaine Cays

Single - Tricolour

Play 90 second soundbite of 'Tricolour' @ 'CD quality'

'Tricolour' by Sheffield's The Magdelaine Cays is a rompin' pop-rocker bristlin' with slightly spiky staccato rhythms and catchy melodic hooks.

Deceptively robust, 'Tricolour' initially sounds pretty sparse and simplistic; subsequent plays find the sound opening up to reveal some monstrous rockin' riffs lurkin' behind the more obviously commercial refrains. Gritty vocals add a sense of homeliness and tangibility to the tensely driven rock machine resulting in a thumpin' toe-tapper of a song that's got just a hint of retro about it.

'Tricolour' by The Magdelaine Cays is a grubby rocker with loads of head-bangin' appeal and moshin possibilities. The Magdelaine Cays deliver a pretty furious up-tempo electric hum-drum of a sound and the resultant 'Tricolour' is a damn fine, commercially weighted offering that's seriously good but maybe not totally devastating - a bit of a worker, a slow grower maybe - time will tell then we'll see if the tricolour is flying high and proud!
