The Machine

Demo

Play 90 second soundbite of 'Somewhere' @ 'CD quality'

This demo was entered into the 2006 Toxic Pete / ffg Studios Demo Competition

The untitled demo by French alt rockers The Machine came with no track listing so I'm don't actually know what I'm listening to. However, it matters not! The four tracks supplied are awesome!! Ball aching, arse clenching R n R that spews forth like a poison arrow aimed straight at the jugular! Massive tormenting riffs, huge rocket driven dynamics, a wall of sound set against angst filled vocals. Oh, and more than a touch of originality.

The heart, guts and driving force of The Machine (running on just two cylinders) are Alexandre Alif and Samuel Agostini; two well oiled pistons of mega-capacity with a wealth of experience between them. If industry and traffic are to blame for global warming then this powerhouse monster, The Machine, has a lot to answer for as they pour out their smokey bi-products to pollute everything around them. The elements that make up this French pollutant contain a good percentage of heavy metal, a dangerous quantity of infectious contamination and they sound like they should be very radio-active!

As I listen and absorb this dangerous concoction I start to realise that The Machine is of fairly basic construction; very few component parts, simplistic in its form and designed with strength, rigidity and longevity in mind. The end result is one hell of a chunk of positive energy that, once its overcome any inertia, should be totally unstoppable.

Due to the user friendly nature of the world wide web I've managed to track down some titles; 1. 'Kalifornia', 2. 'Somewhere' and 4. 'The Machine' - track 3 remains a mystery to me but, it's a very nice mystery to have hanging around!!

The Machine is a French bulldozer of an outfit that deserves to break down territorial walls and invade The World. Don't get in their way - these guys'll knock you flat and stomp on yer head!!
