The Leisurely Gentlemen have a touch of quirkiness about them; their music, at least on this EP, is varied to the point of almost being eclectic and they deliver their songs with a very likeable sense of fun and good cheer. The Leisurely Gentlemen err on the commercial side of indie and any one of the four tracks offered here could be lifted and used as a stand-alone single and each would probably attract a different kind of punter and do well - such is their range and diversity. 'You Should Know Better' opens with the massively compelling and ebullient 'Carnival' which is followed by the energetic and slightly raucous 'Good Night', the somewhat retro-pop 'Lady' and finally the ezy singalong groove of 'Oh My Lord' - four distinctly diverse but equally viable songs that demonstrate The Leisurely Gentlemen's penchant for the instantly appealing and catchy pop ditty.

Great vocal harmonies further raise the ante and give The Leisurely Gentlemen extra depth and add sparkle to the already glitzy package. The Leisurely Gentlemen demonstrate great attitude, clever writing and well rehearsed one-ness with this really tasty EP; 'You Should Know Better' is as rocky as it needs to be and as poppy as it could be - tidy work this from a band that sound like they've got it all sorted and are ready to make a move.
