The Golden Virgins

Single - I Am A Camera

Play 90 second soundbite of 'I Am A Camera' @ 'CD quality'

'I Am A Camera' from the Golden Virgins has an unnerving dance quality to it. It screams from the speakers with a pretty tasty mixture of raunchy indie/rock riffs, blatant pop/punk and heady electronica. It's a clever utilisation of modern instrumentation and years of well established pop experimentation; contemporary yet retro - crisp and cool whilst retaining a kinda dirty restlessness and fiery, down-to-earth, mosh pit vibe. Breathy vocals add a touch of sensuality to the heavy synth laden melody that runs rampant over the punchy rhythms.

The Golden Virgins sound fresh yet sort of familiar and 'I Am A Camera' has a massively commercial feel to it. It carries a feel-good factor that'll find many receptive ears wherever it's heard. It's easy to listen to but foot-tappingly tempting. 'I Am The Camera' crosses many boundaries during it's short (just three minutes) of mayhem. Pretty damn good really!!
