Play 90 second soundbite of 'Paper' @ 'CD quality'
Sitting squarely in the indie/rock genre, The Get Out Clause are absolutely 'now' in style, sound and feel; with a sound that's a bit like Coldplay meets Snow Patrol, The Get Out Clause seem to be timing their assault on the music buying public just about right. 'Paper' is a real gem; with pounding percussion and throbbing bass providing a massive backdrop for the big wall of guitar sound to sit on and the vocals to cling to, The Get Out Clause handle things superbly. There's quite a lot going on here and The Get Out Clause could so easily have drowned out the vocals by over-doing the instrumental production - but they didn't!! They got it just about right and although theirs is a big sound it never feels cluttered or excessive. And, that big bold sound these guys make comes from just three guys - small group, big noise!!
I really like 'Paper' by The Get Out Clause; everything sounds beautifully polished and dynamically there's plenty to get off on. The Get Out Clause look set to become one of the big new names that'll be coming into your home pretty soon. If I have just one concern about The Get Out Clause it would be that they do sound very much like Coldplay and Snow Patrol - now that could work in their favour but it could just as easily work against them. Me, I hope it works out right coz The Get Out Clause sound like a fantastic outfit and they feel like they're ready to drive the fast lane!! Impressive single this - great sound - polished and very 'now'!!
