Play 90 second soundbite of 'Adaptor' @ 'CD quality'
- listen and think, you'll get the drift of this pretty quickly and you'll probably know an 'adaptor' or two around the outskirts of you circle of 'friends'!!
The Fins are essentially a guitar driven indie rock outfit and 'Adaptor' gives ample space for the guitar to shine and show off. But, there's more to The Fins than guitars and riffs; The Fins lay down a hefty old percussive backdrop with a bass guitar that punctuates as well as offering support to the melody line. Vocally The Fins have an edge on many of their contemporaries with a great lead voice that's got a very slight but natural vibrato and backing voices that work on a different plane than most - let's say it's an interesting addition and an unusual one.
'Adaptor' is supported by two equally ballsy tracks in 'Face Behind The Wall' and 'On And On'; same sorta rockin' indie, same kinda guitar driven 'thang' - a good sound, a memorable sound!! The Fins are a five-piece combo and they use their numbers well with generous input from all five sides of their musical people-pentagon. The Fins rock with thunderous drive and gritty finesse; they lay down a whole heap of melodic rock'n'pop that's loaded with whistley riffs and choruses. Just a couple of plays is all that's needed to start with the accompanying air guitar and magic hairbrush-mic. Good British rockin' pop this from a band that sound like they've got a plan and know how to go about achieving their dreams!
