The Fevers

Single - Alright

Play 90 second soundbite of 'Alright' @ 'CD quality'

Sheffield outfit The Fevers seem to be completely 'alright' and sorted with this latest single 'Alright'! Pumped up and ready to rock, The Fevers do their take on rock'n'stroll and make it sound pretty damn easy!

With no intro to speak of The Fevers hit hard and fast as the swirling incessant guitars do their damndest to take, or at least share, the limelight from the gritty vocals. With a rhythm section that's solidly funked-up and erring towards rockin' blues which sits slightly angrily juxtaposed to a otherwise generally punk-tinged feel the Fever deliver a youthfully energetic but hard-driven raunchy 'noise'.

Verse and chorus contain effectively simplistic hints of 60's retro in the form of 'lah lahs' (or equivalent!) and echoed backing vocals whilst the dirty, if not thoroughly squalid, sounding guitar cuts through and offers a rawness that's very 'now' and very effective. Initially The Fevers' sound can tend to be a little harsh and perhaps over-busy but after a couple of listens things seem to calm down a bit and even themselves out.

'Alright' by The Fevers is rammed with raw energy and infectious little, but quite compelling, hooks. The Fevers' drive is contagious and cuz the song's got plenty of singalongability it isn't long before you're drawn in and 'crowing' along with the boys. A pretty good single this that should do well for The Fevers, very 'now' but not exactly a timeless classic!
