Play 90 second soundbite of 'That's A Nice Glove?' @ 'CD quality'
Owning up to being an 'indie/electro/punk' outfit, The Faff do whatever it is they do in mighty fine style. As a single, 'That's A Nice Glove?' does everything you'd want or expect it to do; it's a breakneck paced, lightly punk tinged pop-rocker that's been given a really good mix and excellent production. The boys play and sing their little hearts out here and because the production is so good, everything's absolutely water-tight and beautifully separated. The Faff's way is a vibrant, superbly controlled cacophony of modernistic sound; somewhat genre-blurring, 'That's A Nice Glove?' will appeal to a pretty wide ranging audience.
Typically British and all the better for it, 'That's A Nice Glove?' packs a pretty powerful punch - every second is filled with bright sound, every available byte is taken up with enthusiastic, boyish aggression. But, 'That's A Nice Glove? is so well crafted that it never once sounds cluttered of even slightly over-produced - the guys have got it spot on. The 'b' side is 'Halves 'n' Halves 'n' Halves 'n' Halves' and, scarily, is just as damn good as its bigger brother - impressive stuff this and certainly a single that's got the potential to be up there in the big sellers.
The Faff mix the electro elements beautifully amongst the more 'conventional' elements - just enough to lift it to somewhere different but not too showy. Seriously good stuff this - 'That's A Nice Glove?' by The Faff is really catchy, wonderfully poptastic and just about as commercial as it gets without being totally in-yer-face blatant! Tasty, very very tasty!!
