Play 90 second soundbite of 'First Impressions Of You' @ 'CD quality'
The Brascoes sound is punchy, vibrant and absolutely alive with p'zazz. Nothing perhaps very 'new' in what they're doing, typically indie but, The Brascoes certainly give it some, and then some more! Blistering vocals which are given great levels to ensure that the lyrics are accessible and pretty damn singalongable are guided rather than cluttered by the instrumentation. A kick-ass electric vibe adds radio-friendliness and partaking 'jocks' should get good feedback about The Brascoes and their rockin' songs. Great down low but excellent when maxed out, 'First Impressions Of You' is a play anywhere song - try it in the car but don't take yer mind off the road when you start freakin' with the boys!!
The song is 'urban',workmanlike and honest and it's accompanied here by 'Private March' which is in the same ebullient mould as it's bigger brother. British through and through and commercial as cows milk, 'First Impressions Of You' itself makes a good first impression and should lead to loads of enquiries about The Brascoes, their music and their lives. Nothing to dislike, nothing to fault but with much to pogo about, 'First Impressions Of You' answers more questions that it raises about The Brascoes. The wide encompassing 'indie' world will benefit from having The Brascoes in it - 'First Impressions Of You' gets the job done - no fuss, no messin' just flat-out rockin' indie from a band that sound right on the moment and propper in control of their musical destiny and success.
