Play 90 second soundbite of 'Sometimes' @ 'CD quality'
'Almost everyone in the world owns albums on which The AllStars Collective play, whether by Michael Jackson, Mariah Carey, George Michael, Massive Attack, Jeff Beck, Amy Winehouse, Stevie Wonder, The Eurythmics, Madonna, Rod Stewart, Elton John, Chaka Khan, Jennifer Lopez, Westlife, Shakira or a host of others.
Each and every AllStar is famous in the music world but known to the public only through their work supporting other artists…until now that is. In 2007 they recorded their debut album of original material, which was produced by Hamish Stuart (Average White Band, Paul McCartney) and included the single “All About the Music” featuring Soul legend Jocelyn Brown.
Described by the major record labels as a unique concentration of talent, these unsung heroes are at the core of perpetuating the UK’s reputation as one of the global centres of excellence in popular music.'
So, that's roughly what this album is about then! Suffice for me to say in addition to that 'All About The Music' is a stunning outing of funky soul vibes and big, bold, brassy 'orchestral' sounds. To say this album is polished and slick is a massive understatement; 'All About The Music' is spine-tinglingly refined, an album of smoochy dance vibes, sensitive and romantic melodies, subtle and memorable musical meanderings, well oiled, well honed, well good and well worth a listen!
Just because 'All About The Music' is largely a soul offering, don't for one second think that this is a retro work that harks back to the steamy sensual 60's when soul music was King. Oh no, 'All About The Music' is wonderfully commercial and fully 'now' - just think slick, just think smooth, just think sexy! Now, I'm not about to unleash a list of 'players' here coz there's really no need - it doesn't actually matter who does what on which track coz you just need to drink this in and refresh yourself on its intoxicating heartiness. Names mean nothing - music means everything!! Drown yourself in its soul, fill your body with its passion - then, and only then, take a looksee at who's who and who's doin' what and when.
'All About The Music' by The Allstars Collective is proper 'grown-up' music - from the heart to the soul, from the soul to the heart, heart to heart, soul to soul! Superbly crafted, 'All About The Music' by The Allstars Collective is ten tracks and forty-five minutes of top class, top quality sweet soul music - sit and chill or get up and groove coz 'All About The Music' will get you one way or the other. So, as it so aptly says on the sleeve, 'Enjoy!'
