The Agua de Choro

Single - Improvise

Play 90 second soundbite of 'Improvise' @ 'CD quality'

The Agua de Choro offer something a bit different; jazzy Brazilian (chorinho) rhythms wrapped up with contemporary, digitally assisted instrumentation - Latin jazz with a modern twist. 'Improvise' showcases the dynamic, rhythmic sensibilities of The Agua de Choro and goes a long way to keeping shoe retailers in business; these 'guys' will wear yer shoe leather out in no time at all!

With all due respect to the origins and traditional qualities of chorinho, The Agua de Choro bring a new dimension to their beloved 'Latin' musical heritage. Using traditional instruments alongside modern electronic gizmos, The Agua de Choro bring the sexy Brazilian 'folk' vibes, headlong, into the modern dance arena. Initially, it's pretty furious sounding and the background rhythms play havoc with your knees and ankles as they try to keep time, but the 'frontline' instruments and vocals seem to, almost 'incongruously', slow things down to an acceptable, more manageable, level - it's a really confusing but intriguing musical cocktail that gets more intoxicating and starts to become addictive, the more you listen.

As you'd expect, this new take on Latin music is vibrant and bloody catchy - The Agua de Choro nail the piece beautifully as they set their musical stall out for all-comers. Now, it's very much a case of how do they convince the 'public' to become 'involved' with their nu-chorinho vision. With loads of Latin dance schools out there, The Agua de Choro could just find themselves riding along on the crest of a pretty big wave if they can get their music, in the form of 'Improvise', out to the right people - then, I could see bigger things happening for The Agua de Choro. Interesting, intriguing and maybe inspirational! So hey, "take a chance, the electro-chorinho will make you want to dance.."
