Temposhark

Single - Blame

Play 90 second soundbite of 'Blame' @ 'CD quality'

'Blame' by Temposhark is pure electro-pop at its most commercial and bloody catchy. Pseudo Depeche Mode-type heavy synths and a nauseatingly punchy rhythm section prove the perfect backdrop for some really great pop-weighted vocals that're delivered and phrased with a simplicity very reminiscent of Erasure.

As infectious as chicken pox and possibly almost as irritatingly annoying (in the nicest possible way!), 'Blame' (all three versions here, 'album version', 'Mark Moore And Eon Remix' and 'John Callaghan Remix'), just plays with your senses and messes with your equilibrium. The former is pure pop, the second errs slightly more towards dance and the latter is just superbly, entertainingly weird! The excellently named Temposhark sure know how to do solid danceable pop and although there's a hefty element of electro-retro here they still make it all sound very 'now' and plausible.

Two further electro-dance tracks bless this value for money single, 'Not That Big' and 'The River' - both use punchy repetition to great effect and both will serve the club world well. I definitely prefer the opening track, 'Blame (album version)', over and above the more dance targeted tracks; for me it's just unashamed pop for pop's sake and works really well - although the 'Mark Moore And Eon Remix' is sufficiently alike to be a close runner-up and the 'John Callaghan Remix' is scarily in the frame too - purely coz it's so unusual.

Temposhark aren't really doing anything totally original or different but, what they do they do with such bloody conviction and popability. 'Blame' by Temposhark is a great little single - party freaks and dance zombies will love every track here and 'Blame' surely must sell well.
