'Studio Sessions EP 1' is the first in a proposed series of digital showcase releases by Australian label Y:K Records. This one features electro/pop/dance artists Kehinde, Jazzy K and Salinda.

Full of smooth grooves, catchy beats, and pulsating rhythms 'Studio Sessions EP 1' is a fine example of contemporary 'club' music to chill or dance to. Kehinde's 'Through The Night' is soulful, slick and seamless. Jazzy K's instrumental, 'Africa', is rammed full of jazzy electro mixed with West African beats; a cool chill out but with catchy dance undertones. Salinda's 'Melt Me', as the title suggests, is a sensual, relaxed piece to get juices flowing. Each is recorded and produced superbly, each demonstrates different facets of the electro/dance genre.

Although this isn't exactly my thing, I can still appreciate the overall vibe and feel the need. Maybe not for me then but there's still plenty of clubbers out there to seriously indulge themselves with the cool vibes coming from Y:K.
