Rockin' funksters Stone Halo's eponymously titled EP finds this impressive outfit in fine form; great value with six beautifully crafted tracks, the Stone Halo EP is rammed with great funked-up rockin' grooves that defy categorisation and blur genre.

Sounding something like a cross between Prince and The Isley Brothers, Stone Halo have pooled their individually diverse musical backgrounds and influences to come up with a stunning and mesmerising nu-sound! Stone Halo groove from rock-solid, through slick and soulful, on to pop-funk and just about everywhere in between!! Superb, crisp vocals and great individual musicianship are carefully assembled and proportioned to make up the Stone Halo sound. Impressive, mature writing further strengthens the Stone Halo cause.

This excellent EP shows just what can be done if you're looking to create something different to suit the fickle modern musical ear. Stone Halo take musical shelter in wide ranging rock riffs that are interspersed with soulful, funky grooves and inspirational pop sensibility - theirs is a diverse, multi-genre but focussed musical way that the music industry has been waiting for. And, this tasty little EP showcases their unpigeonholable but unputdownable style by taking the listener on a brief but expansive tour through their heady but commercial songbook.

Although Stone Halo can be loosely likened to other styles and sounds, they manage to make it all sound fresh and contemporary - well, it is anyway, it's all superbly crafted, stunningly put together and majestically performed. Hey, these guys, Kirk D (sticks/vox), Casper (bass/vox), Switch (lead guitar/vox), Jonas (keys/guitar/vox) and Alexander Troy (lead vox/cowbell) certainly know how to 'get it on'. Stone Halo sound even bigger and better when you turn up the vol and just let it rock out. But, this all works equally well at sensible levels and is simply great in the car.

Stone Halo have created a bit of a beast between them - I think they've got it all under control and I can see no reason why Stone Halo shouldn't get up there with some of the big names - everything's there and it's all well honed and
