He took the job on and made it all seem so easy! The tall and leanly built Singh simply ripped into his set of stylish works with a mildly light hearted and friendly approach. Hard to categorise, Singh's style lies in just about every musical camp you could imagine. His animated style and comic intro's soon got his audience on his side. Totally in control he set out to impress and certainly succeeded! Impressively penned and often quirky songs were driven along by Steve's well impressive and often intricate guitar work. With a sooth and soft sounding voice that somehow just didn't seem possible from such a tall guy he simply pressed all the right buttons. His material was so varied in style and content that it just kept you guessing as to just what was going to follow. Each time, what did follow was excellent and somehow quite unique.
This was my first encounter with the enigmatic Steve Singh - it won't be my last. And, if the next encounter is some time off yet, at least I came away with his excellent CD, 'I Will Not Break Your Heart', which will keep me honed in to this guy's rather fascinating work.
