Play 90 second soundbite of 'No More Lies' @ 'CD quality'
'No More Lies' reminds me a little of what Fleetwood Mac (The Steve Nicks incarnation!) would've sounded like if they'd been a touch more British and a tad less American. Also, there are pretty strong leanings towards the sound of early Texas and the young Sharleen Spiteri in Slashed Seat Affair's sound - so that can't be too bad!!. Actually, Slashed Seat Affair do have a slightly American-esque feel to them which should stand them in very good stead if they manage to cross the big pond with their wonderfully lively and catchy pop-rock music. Certainly Slashed Seat Affair give off a very positive vibe and 'No More Lies' has a really strong summery feel to it so its release in Spring/Summer could just prove to be inspired, particularly if they can get some decent radio exposure during the first few weeks following its release. 'No More Lies' is certainly radio friendly and will sound absolutely great blasting from the car stereo while you bomb along in the fast lane on your way to wherever-land.
Generally, Slashed Seat Affair deliver a genuinely up-lifting noise; the jangly guitars and slick vocals share a bright dynamic that's cheery and encouraging whilst bass and drums deliver their combined vibrant rhythmic assault with effortless panache. Slashed Seat Affair ooze confidence but never sound even slightly 'cocky'. Slashed Seat Affair sound like a band on a mission and surely they're one to watch out for!!
'No More Lies' by Slashed Seat Affair has 'hit' written right through it - exposure and good promo will still be needed to help raise the profile of this quite excellent outfit but I can seriously feel something big ahead for Slashed Seat Affair - great single, great band!!
