Reead

Single - Baby

Play 90 second soundbite of 'Baby (Original Radio Edit)' @ 'CD quality'

Multi-mix electro-pop/dance wiz Reead's latest single release, 'Baby' is another of those works that I just don't get - eight variations on a theme rather than eight individual tracks! Sure, I suppose it's got everything it needs to be a minor dancefloor/club hit. Sure, it's targeting a particular market. But, even so, why eight mixes? Why not sit back and wait 'til he's got eight or ten exclusive works, individual tracks, and then put out an full-blown album?

Anyway, enough of that! 'Baby' by Reead does exactly what you'd expect it to do; with loads of synth and digital sounds 'Baby' delivers plenty of hooky vibes and repetitive grooves based on the theme. For me, this aint brilliant though - it's ok, it's bright and addictive enough but nothing actually comes out and grabs me! There's nothing here that really makes a statement, nothing memorable! I'm sure Reead has a following and he'll get 'Baby' played by many a 'jock' and get asses moving across laser lit rooms in loads of clubs but, I don't see 'Baby' making any real big movement anywhere else.

'Baby' by Reead gets by by the 'skin of it's teeth' - the intoxicated craving for dancegroove electro-pop is still pretty massive and Reead will, I'm sure, fill a need with his niche digital wares but, I don't see 'Baby' by Reead becoming a dance classic!
