RedTrack's scintillating take on punk is bordering on quirky, massively up-lifting and pretty much unputdownable.
Unlike most punk edged outfits, RedTrack make their music sound like fun; there's no obvious hard-line aggression here, just plenty of up-tempo good-time energy that tends to set them apart from the norm. RedTrack make punk fun! RedTrack make punk music that's typically ballsy but they seem to pull up short of being obvious - theirs is charm-punk not agro-punk - it's youthful yet informed, clean rather than dirty! Assembled here we have, 'Wait Around', 'Miss You Not', 'Stuck In The Town' and 'Can't be Arsed' - four great tracks that allow RedTrack to display their all-round musical abilities; strong writing, sensational musicianship and that little bit extra that many bands just don't have. RedTrack thump their way into your mind, they sound totally driven, focussed and original - and, originality is the element that's usually hard to find but RedTrack seem to have it in abundance!
'Wait Around' is a really excellent EP, RedTrack take punk to new places - I suppose Green Day managed to take the rough edges off youthful punk and here RedTrack show quite clearly that they are capable of doing the same. Don't get me wrong, RedTrack aren't trying to be another Green Day, RedTrack simply seem to have that same natural ability to take things passed the finishing line and set new markers for others to try to follow. 'Wait Around' by RedTrack suggests that RedTrack are ready, fully equipped and up for it - the long-haul awaits you guys, keep on rockin' like this and I can see RedTrack becoming a household name very soon!!
