Play 90 second soundbite of 'Rise Up' feat. Sweetie Irie (Raw Bud anti mix) @ 'CD quality'
Wrong! It's nailed. Totally wrapped up. Done and dusted!! What this bunch of individuals have done here is exactly what I read. They've managed to bring together all that and more; and it's not a collision so much as a carefully worked out coming together that's sounds as though its gone through a liquidiser and come out as a smooth, creamy end product. I'm not too sure quite just how to describe this very interesting work.
What I can honestly say is that this is not usually my bag. But, I have now to add that it's grabbed and shaken me, made me revisit things a little. This is so well done that it almost hurts.
Unbelievers should just take any one of the four mixes of 'Rise Up feat. Sweetie Irie' (Raw Bud anti mix, Nightbreed "Book Of Shadows" mix, original bootleg anti mix, Roni Size original) or 'Party Time feat. Sweetie Irie (Raw Bud anti mix)' and you too may change your opinion of this hard edged genre. Superbly mixed, engineered, recorded, produced, it's busy but controlled. It's everything they say it is.
I'm sure this'd go down well at almost any venue where there's room to let off steam - it'd suit the frantic mosh pit equally as well as the middle-of-the-road squares in the air type night-club. Certainly this breaks down more boundaries than most things of heard. It's just ridiculously insane to fuse all of these styles into one small space. But here it is - it's done and it works!! Interesting, bold, adventurous, totally mad - but wow it's good!!
