This mini sampler features one track each from The Blood Safari, Born A Lion, Dapunksportif, Parkinsons and The Poppers. Yes, just five bands and just five tracks. The result? Well actually it's pretty damn good. Rastilho show us Brits that the Portuguese can rock with the best of us. They can also shock and they can soothe. Because between these five tasty outfits there's plenty to get yer teeth into. Go on, you won't know unless you try. Remember when donna kebabs were not on your list of likes - but now you can't get enough. Well, same here - unless you sample one you won't know if you can digest it!!
Actually, I have to admit that generally the tracks here have a slightly retro feel to them. Now, I don't know if Portugal is favouring this stylee at the mo' or whether it's not retro but very Portu-now!! But it doesn't really matter coz this is really very good and very likeable.
Well, at least Rastilho are trying to get across the water - credit where credit's due now. Seriously, these sound like pretty good bands we've got here (and they sing in English!!) Their individual pedigrees read pretty well - these aren't just one trick ponies. There's obviously a wealth of talent over there and its well worth looking out for. Nice!!
