Phonic Rapture

Single - The Arrow

Play 90 second soundbite of 'The Arrow' @ 'CD quality'

Phonic Rapture are taking rock back to its roots. Nothing too cultured, nothing too experimental - just solid blues influenced hard edged rock - pure'n'simple!

Their press pack talks of Phonic Rapture "bridging the gap between 80's stadium rock and the 90's Seattle scene" - spot on! Phonic Rapture lay down their gritty wares by using pretty 'basic' instrumentation and just wringing the max outta their gear; big guitar riffs, massive pounding drums, heavy punctuative bass and awesome vocals. The songs too are stripped back to the bones; Phonic Rapture give it like it used to be without sounding trite or even slightly retro.

'The Arrow', 'Dirty Dog' and 'The Entertainer' make up this raunchy, explosive release. The whole thing has a very honest feel to it, no-nonsense rock that takes me back to early Led Zep' and Black Sabbath but never sounds like its trying to be a rip-off. Phonic Rapture do it low down and dirty but come up smelling of roses - they've just about got it right - good, solid, genuine rock without all the over-used fills and frills of over-production and modern techno-gadgetry. Simple, down to earth, gutsy rock from the heart!

Phonic Rapture are bikers heaven - theirs is attitudinal rock for the right reasons - without embellishment, without falseness, without fear! 'The Arrow' should set things up nicely for Phonic Rapture; their big rockin' sound will be easily transfered to the 'live' scenario without any loss whatsoever - what you hear is what you're gonna get!!
