Play 90 second soundbite of 'Flawless Land' @ 'CD quality'
Phil Harding delivers this polished work with silky ease and although the vocal sound and style is somewhat retro, 'Flawless Land' works from pretty much every angle. On the lighter side of pop/rock but with subtle country nuances and a vocal delivery that reminds me of the 60's folk 'protest' singers, Harding has cleverly covered all bases here; hard to pigeonhole and therefore open to all-comers, 'Flawless Land' leaves the listener feeling optimistic and somewhat up-lifted. Certainly this is a very well thought out and well honed work that bodes well for the forthcoming album from which this is taken.
'Flawless Land' by Phil Harding should get plenty of radio play; it's very radio friendly and has all the qualities that the jocks seem to look for their daytime slots. Great in the car and just as vibrant at work or at play, 'Flawless Land' by Phil Harding is cleverly hooky but not in an obvious way! I'm not actually sure why this works so well - but, after a couple of plays it seems to embed itself into your memory and you can't help recalling it every so often, even at the most unlikely times! 'Flawless Land' by Phil Harding is a great little worker that's got a pretty timeless feel to it - it's one of those songs that, if it takes off, it'll be coming back to haunt you for many years to come. Clever stuff!
