Play 90 second soundbite of 'Girl On The Radio' @ 'CD quality'

This demo was entered into the 2008 Toxic Pete / ffg Studios Studio Time Competition

'Girl On The Radio' is a one track demo from Birmingham trio Peach Rhino - with a wealth of musical experience (and experiences!!) between them Peach Rhino stick to their well tried and tested retro pop stylee here.

It's easy to hear the band's influences; 'Girl On The Radio' is almost pure 60's pop and relies pretty much on a chirpy melody line, catchy chorus and well executed vocals to carry the piece - there's no drawn out guitar or keyboard solo, no outrageously deft bass manoeuvres, no over-long percussive flamboyancy - just solid, unified playing that gets the job done with precision and aplomb. But, although there's no doubting the musicianship of this trio, I can't help but feel that Peach Rhino have missed the boat by a good few years. Now, that's fine coz there's always been a place for quality retro pop music and there's no reason why Peach Rhino shouldn't get plenty of gigs on the back of stuff like this.

Genre aside, Peach Rhino play with great feel, road-hardened understanding and almost tangible unity; superb musicianship and collective enthusiasm give Peach Rhino something that many, similarly ilked, outfits don't get even close to. Peach Rhino sound like a band that play together because they want to rather than because they need to - the guys sound totally relaxed around each other and they stay well within their comfort zone. 'Girl On The Radio' is a tasty work within its 'retro pop' genre and Peach Rhino certainly handle themselves with well honed professionalism and studied musicianship.

'Girl On The Radio' by Peach Rhino won't be to everyone's taste but for those out there that still crave a bit of good old British sugary pop, it'll work just fine!
