Paul Carrack

Single - Love Will Keep Us Alive

Play 90 second soundbite of 'Love Will Keep Us Alive' @ 'CD quality'

Taken from the forthcoming album 'Greatest Hits...The Story So Far...', 'Love Will Keep Us Alive (2006 version)' is Paul Carrack's latest release. A re-made and re-modelled version of the song written by Carrack and the late and great Jim Capaldi and released by The Eagles in 1996. Carrack's new rendition is a gently lilting, soulful take.

'Love Will Keep Us Alive (2006 version)' is so soulfully chilled that it could have come straight from the pen and songbook of another late and great, Marvin Gaye! Carrack's voice has taken on several facets throughout his charismatic and successful career but here it's definitely subdued and emotional. I'm not too sure whether this work will be a major seller though; it's radio friendly enough and, if given sufficient exposure, should get into the hearts of thousands. But, is it actually 'now' enough? I'm not sure! The 'single' has two versions of 'Love Will Keep Us Alive' ('radio edit' & 'full length') and another slick re-make of 'Dedicated' which is definitely more of the same soulfully silky 'blue tinged' balladeering.

Paul Carrack's career has been massive and he has his stalwart followers who will no doubt love this latest work. Certainly it's class and certainly it's gonna attain pretty good sales but I'm not sure that, as a stand-alone' work, it's got the commerciality - it should, however, work extremely well as a forerunner and promotional work for the 'Greatest Hits...' release.
