Play 90 second soundbite of 'Circuit Overload' @ 'CD quality'
Paparazzi Whore rock so hard that they must be a danger to themselves and all onlookers and 'I'd rather Be Infamous Than famous' is stonkingly red-hot! Eleven breathtakingly furious and punchy works that fly from the speakers leaving grimy vapour trails in their wake. The Whores comprise Micci (vocals and keyboards), Chris (bass & rhythm guitar), Shaun (rhythm guitar), Rich (drums) and Faye (keyboards); together they generate a heady, pounding groove that harps back to The Stranglers and Jean-Jacques Burnell's bass driven style. Solid and rampant the Whores lash out their wares with a big powerhouse approach; an adrenaline fueled, slightly retro, pop/rock fusion that just works so well. And hey, the songwriting and production's right up there too; crackin' lyrics, snappy melodies and memorable choruses all tied up with superb, bright arrangements. Surely the Paparazzi Whores are gonna make it big in 2006. And if their live work in any way matches this studio piece then God only knows where they can go!
There's not a weak track in sight here - just nearly forty minutes of pure heaven. Stunning. Brilliant.
If these 'babes' don't do something big soon I'll be totally amazed and very worried about the future of 'popular' music. Melodic and yet totally in-yer-face, Paparazzi Whore are an awesome sounding outfit. 'I'd Rather Be Infamous Than famous' is a stunning release that must push them into the realms of mass acceptance and stardom.
