Play 90 second soundbite of 'Broken Hearts And Broken Dreams' @ 'CD quality'
This likeable crew have laid down a great demo here with albeit just three zippy but impressive tracks. (My pre-release copy has an out-take to finish which I hope doesn't go onto the finished article!!)
Opening with 'Know The Way', which lets the listener in reasonably gently, Page 44 lay down their home grown 'power pop' with great style and attitude. 'Something About You' then takes up the battle in impressive style; initially verging on latter day, melodic punk before finishing on a more subtle note its a little belter. 'Broken Hearts And Broken Dreams' fits almost into the indie mode. For me the most enduring of the works here it, once again', powers along with catchy chorus' that stick in the mind from the first hearing. 'A Slice Of Fried Gold' makes no excuses - takes no prisoners - it simply opens the door to Page 44 and lets you make up your own mind; d'ya want to come in or d'ya wanna stay out. I think Page 44 will find more coming in than staying out!!
Page 44 have given good account of themselves with this short but workmanlike demo. Certainly they don't leave the listener wondering what they're about; it's all here - it rocks - it rolls - it works!
