Play 90 second soundbite of 'Eyes On The Road' @ 'CD quality'
As the 'toms' introduce the song you just know that 'Eyes On The Road' is going to be something special. And, as the track unfolds there's a overwhelming feeling of positive acceptance and appreciation. This is a big sound, like Gomez meets Pink Floyd - catchy yet somehow almost experimental. With the pretty massive backdrop it's impressive how Ormondroyd keep it all afloat and working - there's a lot going on but it still feels as though everything's absolutely spot on.
After a couple of listens you'll be singing along to the catchy melody and some of the rhythm patterns will haunt you for days. This is one hell of a band and 'Eyes On The Road' is a stunning preview to the album. I bet, if you like this you'll soon be seeking out 'Hit & Hope'. Quite bloody right too! 'Eyes On The Road' is so full of beautiful 'noise', so well crafted it just has to be a big one for the excellent Ormondroyd.
