Play 90 second soundbite of 'What Am I Supposed To Do?' @ 'CD quality'
Massively catchy and brandishing a massive punch, 'What Am I Supposed To Do?' pulls together melodic rock riffs, nu-punk aggression, pop sensibility and no nonsense commerciality. Original Cast have been likened to Hard-Fi crossed with The Streets and it's easy to see why; their energy is obvious as is their ability to pen clever lyrics. But, it's in the delivery that Original Cast come into their own - solid and attitudinal yet slick and polished - unity personified - channelled creativity and massive potential.
'What Am I Supposed To Do?' is an excellent piece of modern pop rock and Original Cast manage to make hard-edged, energetic music sound enjoyable and entertaining. Original Cast sound like a unit that has a lot of fun doing what they do; theirs is an entertaining and up-lifting way that's almost irresistible.
With similarly ilked bands such as Razorlight and Hard-Fi doing very well recently, I can't see any reason why Original Cast shouldn't join their ranks and be equally massive. 'What Am I Supposed To Do?' ticks all the right boxes at the moment. Surely the music business is crying out for new talent like Original Cast. 'What Am I Supposed To Do?' is a solid rocker with nu-punk aggression, a quirky sense of fun and a great feel-good factor. Original Cast rock - of that their is no doubt!
