Play 90 second soundbite of 'Tarantula' @ 'CD quality'
Nutrostars are three guys writing and performing music that's easy to listen to but challenging at the same time. The album title gives just a hint at what's inside.
What you can't know until the opening track hits you is just what Nutronstars are gonna smack you with; fourteen tracks of ballsy pop-rock that span the decades of pop culture, mildly plagiarise almost to the point of piss-taking whilst actually being seriously original. A serious yet insane agglomeration of brilliantly written, superbly performed, infectious pop-rock toons that quickly etch themselves into your mind and soul. For a mere trio, Nutronstars have a massive sound; the songs are so beautifully crafted it's easy to visualise a six or seven piece outfit. This is an intriguing piece of work!!
Don't get the wrong idea though, Nutronstars don't let the music suffer through their apparent musical insanity. Well, it's not exactly insanity - it's actually a very clever, controlled and genuinely exciting slice of contemporary music making. There's some really impressive material here - in fact, there's not one, even slightly, weak track. The more I hear the more I like!!
'Love/pop/noise/speed' is an inspired work - creatively original but somehow cutely familiar - superb!!
