Naama Hillman

CD - Living Room

Play 90 second soundbite of 'Falling' @ 'CD quality'

Now, it could be said that this review is a bit after the event. That's true; 'Living Room' by Naama Hillman is two years old now. But, it's my first encounter with this sultry young Israeli born, American raised, now London resident. And, a good muso friend of mine just happened to be at a gig recently where Naama was the support act. He was so blown away by Naama Hillman that he raced around to my place and thrust the autographed CD into my hands and said something like "..you've just gotta hear this...!" Now, that does happen to me occasionally but, not with this particular mate and not with this genre of music! Of course, I immediately inserted said CD into my player - he was right; 'Living Room' is exquisite!

'Living Room' may be old now but that doesn't, for one moment, take anything away from its beauty. This is top quality stuff from a top notch performer and song writer! Stunning arrangements add polish to the already sublime songs, songs that would sound equally as good un-plugged and cut to the bone; eleven superb, stylish, acoustic based tracks performed with a relaxed and effortless professionalism. Quality, quality and yet more quality!

Hillman's sultry vocal delivery is somewhat American tinged - she could be a full blown 'Yank' but lucky for us she's now a full time Brit. Hillman's writing is pure class. Sure, there are comparisons that could be made but there's really no need - Naama Hillman is simply superb in her own right! Watch out for this artist - you won't be disappointed!

Naama's website has a free download of a later release, the acoustic EP 'In Between The Lights' - check it out, now! I will certainly be on the lookout for any more new material she may release. Hey, after two years, surely there's another album in the making!!
